A Pasta Creation

Thank you for the feedback on the last post, I will definitely keep that in mind as I try to blog more.  One of my few faithful followers requested more food posts and since I made a rockin' dish last night, why not blog about it?  My ingredients:
1 bag of Trader Joe's frozen asparagus
8 slices of turkey bacon
2 fresh Roma tomatoes (you could use more)
Trader Joe's Egg Pappardelle
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp olive oil
Garlic salt (to taste)
Black Pepper (to taste)
Spray Butter (to taste)
First, I got a frying pan to cook the bacon in and at the same time, started boiling some water in pot.  As the bacon was cooking, I began chopping the tomatoes.  Once I finished with the tomatoes, I tossed the asparagus in my Pampered Chef microwave steamer and threw it in the microwave for about 5 minutes.

Once the water was boiling, I tossed in the pasta...I broke it up a little in the bag because they are large pieces of pasta.

When the asparagus finished, I drained out the water and then tossed it in the olive oil, garlic salt and black pepper.  Then I took my handy kitchen shears and cut the asparagus into smaller pieces.  I did not take each stalk out and cut, I just stick my scissors in the dish and chopped away at all of it at once (much faster)!

Once the bacon was cooked, I took it off the stove and chopped into smaller pieces.  Since turkey bacon does not leave grease, I used the same pan to then combine the asparagus, bacon, and tomatoes to cook together for a couple of minutes.

I drained the pasta, used spray butter to taste, added the asparagus mixture and stirred in 1/3 cup of Parmesan cheese.  We also added a little more garlic salt and black pepper before we served it up.  It was AMAZING and Ryan loved it!  It's definitely on the "make again...and again and again" list.  The only bad thing was that I dropped my camera into some water for like .230974 seconds!  It stopped working for a minute, but I think it's going to be OK.  So the finished product pic is on Ryan's iPhone, not quite as clear.

  1. Yum! Pictures are nice but a taste testing would be better. I guess I will have to try this myself. Thanks for the step by step instructions.
